Travel tips: What you have to know before visiting Indonesia?

For a pleasant and convenient journey to Indonesia useful travel tips follow :

Health : Immunisation against hepatitis A is recommended for all travelers . Depending on the length of stay and itinerary , vaccination for Japanese encephalitis , rabies may be necessary , typhoid and hepatitis B . Malaria and dengue fever exists in many parts of the country .

So take adequate safety mosquito bites and keep anti -malarial medication with yourself . Drink water only from sealed bottles , and avoid swimming in freshwater lakes or streams as organisms that cause diseases such as schistosomiasis be present . Take measures against heat and humidity . Wear a hat and drink lots of water and sunscreen .

Dress Code : In business circles , wearing a suit is the norm for men and women . For formal occasions , either a suit or long sleeve , good quality , batik shirts are recommended for men , while in the evening or cocktail dresses suitable for women . Since Indonesia is predominantly Muslim country , modesty in dress is advised ; please cover up if you plan to visit a mosque .


Local Customs : Indonesia has a high Muslim population and it is important to understand and respect local beliefs . A few wise clothing in public places in deference to local customs . Shorts are not allowed in mosques and women should have their arms and head covered .


Offices : Most government offices are open 8:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Offices and commercial businesses are open 9:00 to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday , and 8:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays. Hours for commercial businesses and offices are staggered .

Electricity : Cities run on 220 volts , 50 cycles AC system . Rural areas may only be able to provide 110 volts .

Use your right hand to give or receive something from someone something . Speak with one hand on hip one would be considered rude .
