Alternative Rock: Alternosfera's album "Epizodia"

Alternosfera was founded by two high school friends from Chisinau, Moldova, in 1998 with first rehearsal taking place on the 13th of December.
Over the years, the band has gone through many line-up changes, having only two original members, Marcel and Marin. Currently it is composed by: Marcel Bostan (vocalist), Marin Nicoară (guitar), Sergiu Aladin (guitar), Vicosh (bass) and Anatol Pungaci (drummer).

In the early years of its existence, the band was searching for song topics and musical style, experimmenting with different instruments, gaining experience by recording the first demos.
Like most Moldovans, the band members speak Romanian as their native language, except Vlad Hohlov, who is a native Russian speaker.
The first album "Oraşul 511" was launched in May 2005 and the album’s title came from garage nr. 511 where the band had its rehearsal room for several years.
The band's second album, "Visători cu plumb în ochi sau ultima scrisoare pentru femeia nordică" was released in June 2007. With this album Alternosfera wished to end the lyrical romanticism period in their work.
In the autumn of 2008, Alternosfera have launched EP "Flori din groapa Marianelor”.

Both the lineup and musical direction have changed over time, as the band reached maturity and developed their own approach to alternative rock, with the keyboards "carrying" the entire tune. Their lyrics are most often about love, but also have social and political connotations. Alternosfera's sound is unique on the Moldovan market at the moment, their influences varying from 80's motifs to the Seattle alternative rock of the '90s. Some people claim that the guitar sound in their songs is similar to Nirvana's.

With two albums released in the last year, Alternosfera is currently one of the most powerful rock formations both in Moldova and in Romania.

Their recent album, "Epizodia" was released in april 2013. During this summer they concerted in Romania. On September 27 Alternosfera made a fulminant show at Fusion Arena in Bucharest. On the 18-th of October they will have a concert in Chisinau, Moldova. They're also planning to tour in Russia and Netherlands.
